Treaty of LisbonAustrian Constitutional Court rejects action against Treaty of Lisbon
With its latest decision of 11 March 2009 the Austrian Constitutional Court rejects once again actions of individuals against the Treaty of Lisbon of 13 December 2007. Although the Treaty was accepted by the Austrian Parliament on 9 April 2008 and ratified by the President on 28 April 2008, an action against it is not feasible, as long as it is not published. Publication of the Treaty, however, is only possilbe after all Member States have ratified it. As that is not the case at the moment, the actions are not admissible for the lack of validity of the Treaty.
