About us

BP O'Reilly and Company was founded in 1979 and established in Tallaght Village. From a staff of one we have grown with four partners and associates, seven lawyers and a staff of fourteen. We are now one of the largest solicitors' practices in the county.

In 1989, we moved to the former AIB premises in the Village and in 2003 we undertook a major extension and refurbishment project which now provides 6,000 square feet of office space. That’s larger than most office buildings in Dublin’s Georgian business district.

We offer a full range of services to the national and international business communities, fighting on behalf of clients in the fields of: debt recovery, defending predatory litigation, opposing government regulators, employment and HR law, Competition law, equality law, commercial property transfer, business property disputes, commercial property leases, commercial litigation, the commercial court and mediation and alternative dispute resolution.

Our firm also provides quality legal advice and representation to individuals, particularly regarding accident claims, car accidents, accidents at work, personal injury, probate and family estates, divorce property dispute resolution, medical negligence, property sale and purchase and mortgages.

About Patrick McMahon is Senior Litigation Partner with the firm. He graduated from UCD with a Bachelor of Civil Law degree in 1986 and qualified as a solicitor in 1989. Prior to joining the firm in 1987, Paddy worked for Independent Newspapers PLC. With over 20 years experience as a Trial Lawyer, he specialises in Accident Litigation and Employment and HR Law.
