About us

The firm was founded as a solo-practitioner law firm by Yasar Ozturk on 19 January 1973 in Samsun,Turkey and was involved in general litigation, criminal law practice, commercial law, maritime and torts at the beginning which followed by extension to the areas of banking law, financial law, aviation law, land transport, multimodal transport, international legal affairs, construction law, insolvency and bankruptcy law,, M&A, intellectual property at inland and crossborder venues while converting to partnership with specialist colleagues in their practice areas.

The firm has been expanding  into new areas of practice in order to serve clients' needs and aiming always being on the edge as it used be since the first day of entering in the legal services business and always sought consistently to improve its methods in every way.

We believe that quality of advice and service is the prime underlying reason for success and growth. The promptness in the services is another working principle of the firm. All of our attorneys and consultants are always ready to act for our clients as soon as being instructed accordingly.

About
Ozge Hakdan Ozturk was born in 1984. She is graduated from Faculty of Law, University of Bahcesehir in Istanbul in 2007 and has been working as a qualified lawyer in Ozturk&Partners Law Office.

Work Experience

She has worked in our firm during her law studies as an assistant and translator while she was having her basic flying lessons as a junior pilot. Hakdan has been also in the physical side of aviation since 1996 and translated several aviation law materials for the use of aviation lawyers.
She is presently focused on the laws and aspects of doing business of the People’s Republic of China.
She began her training for being a qualified lawyer in our firm in July 2007 and has been working mainly in aviation law, corporate law, and international commercial law with a special emphasis in business and investment in PRC, transport law, bankruptcy law and contracts law.
She has participated the seminars of Holman Fenwick & Willian on “Key Issues for Turkish Shipping”, seminar of Howrey Law Firm and EC Harris on “International Commercial Arbitration Trends 2007” and Arbitration and Mediation Conferences which was organized by British-Turkish Lawyers Association in Istanbul in March 2008.
She speaks Turkish, English and Spanish.

Turkey ratifies the Montreal 1999 Convention - 22.06.2009
The Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules for International Carriage by Air of 1999 (hereinafter referred to as the “Montreal Convention”) which had been signed by Turkey back in 28 May 1999, was finally ratified by the Parliament on 2 April 2009 and was published in the Official Gazette numbered 27200 and dated 14 April 2009.

There is not any particular legislation governing the rights of passenger in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or delay of flights similar to Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004 other than Turkish Civil Aviation Code and Commercial Code’s provisions on carriage in Turkey.
